Quality Wood products

Our beds are built with the highest cabinet grade common core plywood. No MDF. We typically use Birch however other varieties can be substituted. Additional charges may apply.

Solid wood can also be requested, however this will substantially increase the cost of the bed.

Quality Hardware

Our Murphy beds utilize gas pistons to assist with the lowering and raising of the bed. The pistons are rated for over 50,000 cycles. Also, sturdy metal pivot hinges ensure a smooth action and strong tubular steel makes up the retractable footrest.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if this will fit in my room?

We have not yet found a room that is too small. See the mattress chart for mattress sizes. To calculate the total cabinet bed size, add 6 inches to the mattress width, and 7 inches to the mattress length. For example: a queen Murphy bed cabinet will measure 66 inches wide and 87 inches long when the bed is down. The cabinet will have a depth of 16 inches when the bed is up.

What kind of mattress should I buy?

Your mattress must be 8 to 12 inches thick. There is not requirement for mattress style so almost any standard mattress will work. A box spring is not needed.

You say you use pistons instead of springs. Why is this important?

Pistons have a much long life span than springs. In the past most Murphy beds were made with springs, but it was discovered that as time went on, the springs would stretch out and lose some of their mechanical advantage.

Will you come visit our home to see the room for the Murphy bed?

Absolutely. If fact, it is preferable if we make a site visit. This allows us to meet the customer face to face, see the room, and take any measurements.

How do I pay for the Murphy Bed?

First we will send a quote after we have discussed what the customer wants. If the quote is accepted by the customer, we require a 50% down payment. The remainder will be due when the bed is delivered and installed. We accept Cash, local checks, or pay by Paypal, Venmo, or Zelle. Whatever works best for you.

How long will it take to to build and install the bed?

Typically, we can build a Murphy bed in 4 weeks. For beds with extra add ons like side cabinets or a desk, an additional 1 – 2 weeks are normal. We will consult with you to plan for a delivery date once the down payment is received.
